The Obama Administration has pledged to double exports in five years. Do you think this is doable? What do we need to accomplish this?|||Without action on China's exchange rate or the negotiation of more open markets in countries such as Brazil and South Korea, exports will not grow as fast as Obama hopes. Any employment gained from exports will be more than offset if steps are not taken to stem the loss of jobs from America's appetite for imports.





In many fields 鈥?high tech, farm goods, entertainment, energy, finance 鈥?the US is world-class, relying on its strength in innovation. In agriculture, too, the US is a strong contender, with a quarter of farm revenues coming from exports. Yet American farmers face high barriers in Europe and Asia, especially in selling food grown with new biotechnology techniques.





Obama will need to show more political muscle than he鈥檚 displayed so far to knock down these foreign (and congressional) walls. He must lead the way to a new global agreement on trade (the so-called Doha Round of talks) while also pursing other bilateral trade agreements.





To avoid a jobless economic recovery, the president鈥檚 plan must show real results soon in creating jobs from exports so that there are not more exports of US jobs. o_O|||Anything is possible with liberal math! Just look how much money we are going to MAKE off of health care! Ga-zillions! No wait Ba-jillions! No wait health care is going to make us infinity plus one!|||Well, remember this is Obama math.. not real math.





He promised to cut the deficit in half.. and increased it 400%.





He promised to reduce insurance premiums by 3000% ( yes, three thousands ).. and insurance rates are increasing.





It should be pretty obvious to anybody by now.. Any numerical concept that can't be calculated by ticking off fingers is more than Obama can grasp.|||I LIKE TURTLES|||What we need to do is bring people to Washington who will stop taking every penny we have to invest in the growth of our manufacturing and putting it into government debt. In the first two years of Obama we will have taken 3 trillion dollars out of the investment pool and put it into national debt.

No more taxes for the middle class well that is yet to see cause we don't really know what is in the health care bill. As far as export Obama is not really concerned about job creation he is more focussed on apologizing overseas for our mistakes or removing offensive words on National Security documents. His next priority is immigration reform I don't really see how any of his policies are helping the middle class or unless he was talking about exporting the illegal immigrants out of the country I doubt it. Therefore the promise of doubling exports is just a pretext to get him re-elected. Then once re-elected for another 4 years he will show us what he really had in mind for the American people most likely it will be communism because he think that Americans have way too much freedom to prosper compared to other third world countries. He will spread the wealth around. How dare America have so much while other country like Kenya barely have enough to survive? Well all his promises are smoke better get used to it.
