Why does Obama expect the GOP to raise the debt ceiling for him without anything given in exchange?

Where's the bargained for exchange?

Obama gets authority to waste even more money and get the nation farther in debt and the GOP gets nothing?

I don't think so Obama!|||Barry is simply a tax and spend liberal. Out in 2012.|||He expects everyone to kiss his ***.

I agree with you 100%

Every dollar it goes up it pushes us even closer to the edge of the cliffs. When we get to that cliff and fall over EVERYTHING you know will be gone! Food stores will be EMPTY in a single day, No power, no gas, no refrigeration, no water, no hospitals, no doctors.

Unfortunately millions of people WILL die with in the first two month, and then millions more every month after until it finally settles down. People have to stock up on non perishable food, water, meds, gas, and a lot more. There are an extremely high chance that riots will happen.|||PRESIDENT Obama, i don't care if you don't like him but you will respect him, is offering tax cuts and cuts, though to the chagrin of his party, to social security and medicare. Also the fact of the entire nation NOT defaulting.|||Obama views himself as the messiah, and doesn't understand why everybody isn't bowing down to him and letting him do whatever he wants. That's the only thing I can think of why he's this clueless and expects everybody do give him whatever he wants.|||No, it the job of congress to raise the debt ceiling. But the republicans have substituted their oath of office in favor of some pledge to somebody.|||It doesn't matter that W had it raised 7 times, it doesn't matter that the President has the power to raise it without Congressional approval, it would appear that facts are of little concern to some.|||Why would he need to raise the debt ceiling ? To pay for the budget that congress has already appoved . Congress decides how , where and how much money is spent . The debt ceiling has to be raised because they have already spent the money|||I think in this economy scenario, and to prevent another recession, raising the debt ceiling is really the only alternative
