How is Obama going to get the drug companies to agree to making less money?

These companies spend millions and millions on R%26amp;D for new drugs.





Is Obama going to threaten them or bribe them or what?|||That is not the issue he faces. The big problem he will have is convincing people to invest in a company that has willingly decided to make less money.





In fact it is ludricous to even expect that the senior management of a company will ignore their fiduciary duty to the stockholders just because a politican wants them to.





I wish that liberals would learn something about business and economics. The pharmicitucal companies are where people have invested their 401Ks, retirement savings, college funds etc. When one of those companies makes 'less profit' then that means that somebody's retirement savings are in danger of vanishing.|||Many Drug Companies are already poor performers in recent years. The insurance companies....they're not doing well either. we even bailed one of them out with Tax money (AIG).


Don't worry; your democrat Congressmen will be very financially comfortable.


Did you hear that on page #16 of the Obama-care health bill it outlaws people from getting private medical insurance? NO SALESMEN WILL CALL! So much for freedom. So much for truth!


Do you also recall that Obama himself indicated that you could keep your current provider if you were happy with it?


I think even the most gullible of our nation are beginning to see through this guy.|||Nationalize them. The scientists don't make any money, they will go where the money is. My daughter did research for years. She has a molecular biology degree. She actually made more $ than the post docs. The ones who make money via the drug companies are investors and ceo's who have no hands on involvement or talent to contribute to actual research.





Time for these leeches who produce toxic crap that they sell to the public as the answer to all their ills to just go out of business. Jesus, just listen to the disclaimers on their ads. All these drugs are making us nuts, very few work. They CREATE illnesses like fibromyalgia - yeah - I know those who are diagnosed with fibro are helped by the drugs they take that are ultimately going to destroy their livers and kidneys, feel you are being helped, but it's all you have because your doctor won't prescribe anything else and your insurance doesn't allow coverage for naturopathic treatment which is completely non-toxic and works (I can give testimony to that), but that is only common sense and what good is that?





Screw Western Medicine - they have nothing to gain by making you well. Grow up people!|||Too late. They already agreed to a $2 trillion reduction. It's the republicans that are scared and are spreading fear because the drug companies have republicans in their pockets. Think about it. Why won't the republicans jump on board and help? Money!|||He can't. Period---and judging by his shocking "snarly" behavior recently---it's safe to assume he NOW knows this. This is where Obama voters and fellow Democrats can NOW say "OMG!! What have we done!!!"





The Medical (physicians) lobby and the Pharmetcutial lobby both are NOT going to allow Obama to LOWER their profit intakes with ANY form of Socialized Medicine program---ever!! These lobbies both make multiples of TRILLION$, so bribes and 'bailout' "loans" will NEVER work!!





All modern U.S. Presidents before Obama have tried in vain to force the Health care lobbyists to step back and give the common joe American a break.....to no avail; the smart Presidents quickly realized this and backed off from this losing battle. Short of threatening them, Obama has NO positive ways for success in U.S. Healthcare Reform.|||Maybe he'll convince them that the health of millions of Americans is much more important than their pockets! He could start with the fact that Magic Johnson is healthier than the average person, yet he has HIV! He can afford the medicine that everyone else with HIV can't, so THEY DIE, he lives!!!!|||The same way Canada gets them to agree to it. Drugs are much cheaper in Canada, and the same Pharma companies that supply the US, supply Canada.|||home foreclosures have skyrocketed to 15% as his approval tanks...
