The original comments were made in front of a millionaires only fundraising event in California. It took Obama over a week to come out with this by way of explanation:

Why the delay? What else does Obama say out of media earshot that would insult vast sections of the country?|||For the same reason he first said he didn't hear Jeremiah Wright make racist comments and then later changed the story and said he heard them but didn't agree with them: Obama is a liar who changes his story when he thinks he needs to.|||Why did it take him 20 years to Condemn Rev Wright?|||He is a racist, pure and simple, yet he loved taking all the freebies he received for his Harvard education.|||that he wants this to be a muslim nation, with their kind of laws, not for me, no way this is America, that is his big change, wake up people, see the light!!!!!|||Someone told him that Mellencamp sang, "I was born in a Small Town," at the 2004 Democratic Convention and he had to say something.
Small town America rocks!|||Because he was caught. He would never have touched the comments if others hadn't found out about them.
I also have been really, really wondering what else he says when he thinks people won't find out. I bet it's pretty interesting.|||He didn't mention anything about race in his comments. What are you saying? That typical small town PA people are white?|||Because, like a prominent Republican whom he reviles, he is nearly incapable of admitting that he can make mistakes. Also, he has a tin ear when it comes to listening to people's concerns. Yet his supporters fail to realize that this man is all too human, like everyone else.|||This guy took 20 years to address the issue of race in his own church and you are wondering why he is slow!|||Look how he is sneaky. Tries to make racist comments but combines it with voters not having jobs.
He's not to be trusted.|||He was caught and had to protect his chances at the presidency..He is a typical politician,saying whatever the crowd he is speaking to wants to hear.|||Please, someone had to type it up for him and then it took a few days to get through the drafts and spelling corrections and then it took time for him to read through it a few times before speaking it.|||It took that long for the light to go on!|||the speech was perfect for California.
A lot of high powered engineering jobs were lost.
Nursing jobs are given to women that are brought over from other countries. They are given housing and babysitting, to take our
American jobs.
Now I think the speech was right on target.
