Each mortgage is going to be looked at individually and until that is done no one would know and since there is nothing in stimulus that states anything about minorities this question is moot. The vast minority of bad loans were not given to minorities but to speculators anyway so I do not see it mattering. Maybe it matters to a bigot but not much to the rest of us.|||Democrats in government have always done things like this. And yes, the people that are trying to keep up their mortgages will probably not get any help in Obama's plan. The truth is beginning to come out. Those that are actually in foreclosure will get some kind of help. Just heard about a black family on TV that were foreclosed on, they were put out, now they have moved back in knowing that Obama is going to get them the money to keep the house. Let me tell you the real reason Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid pushed through the biggest spending bill in history – without proper debate, without Republican input, and without any public scrutiny at all.
Simply, they are trying to turn the United States into a one-party country and to put the Republican Party out of business once and for all.
The massive appropriation called a stimulus – some $787 billion of your money – is really a political war chest for the Democrats.
They want to change the face of American politics forever, and they want to use your taxpayer money to do it.
They want to use billions from our treasury to reward their political friends – and have huge amounts of cash to dole out before the 2010 and 2012 elections.
Some people have wondered why, if the country is in dire need of emergency “stimulus,” most of the money appropriated by this law will not even be spent this year.
Instead, spending will go on for five to 10 years.

The only reason minorities are more likely to be able to get federal help is because there are more poor minorities then poor white people. You're not going to paint Obama as Malcolm X no matter how hard you try.|||Obviously, the answer you are looking for is not a -real- answer. The answer you are looking for is a slur against our current President. You've gotten that from the conservative drones rambling on below.
But, for some reason, I'm going to give you a logical answer anyway. God knows you won't listen to it, but here it is:
1) The money is not set aside for specific people. It is set aside for a group of people who are declared (by their banking institutions) to be "at risk of default" on their mortgage. This is based on their income and employment, debt to income ratio, and various other factors. It is not based on their race, and it would be illegal to base it on their race in any way.
2) If you want the details of what's happening with the stimulus so far (the mortgage portions aren't in effect yet, thus the lack of full information), simply visit http://www.recovery.gov. It gives full disclosure, and will give full disclosure on the mortgage bill if and when it is put into action.
3) There is no way to know at this point what the exact demographics are of the group receiving the bailout. It has yet to be determined or distributed. There is a greater amount of poverty (statistically) in minority population, so we are likely to see fair numbers in the minority population. The numbers are likely to correlate more to the current demographic percentages of those in lower income-brackets than the demographic percentages of the overall population. However, since the minority and majority population are both effected by the difficulties in the current housing market, this is definitely not something that's going to be a "bailout for the minorities."
You're asking for fortune telling, not statistics. There are no reports or studies that show what percentage is going to minorities, because that's not the point at all. Why waste our resources finding irrelevant answer? The point is getting our housing market revived again, and assisting those who are making good-faith efforts to pay their mortgages, but are unable to due to pay-cuts or lay-offs.
Yes, minorities are part of Barack Obama's constituency, but racism works both ways. Many people didn't vote for Obama because they were uncomfortable with the idea of a black president. Many voted for him only because he's black. Both are unfortunate. We should now move past race, and stop trying to create the illusion of racism where none exists.
