Norway is a far safer society with crime rates drastically less than the US.
Look at the homicide rate alone.
2010 Murder Rate per 100,000
Norway- 0.6
District of Columbia - 24 (40x norway rate)
Alabama - 6.9 (11x norway rate)
South Caroline - 6.3 (10.5 norway rate)
Texas 5.4 (9x norway's rate)
California 5.3 (8.8x norway's rate)
Even states with quiet reputations like vermont or maine, have murder rates over twice that of norways.
The only state that is even close to Norway's rate is
New Hampshire at 0.8
