What is Obama doing to combat the recession and increase job opportunities?

I don't intend to get into a Dems vs Reps argument and I don't need racist comments towards Obama. I need facts and current observations. What is he doing to increase employment?|||i don't know|||All one need do, is do the math. 0bama's stimulus package is an embarrassment, if he believes it offers enough incentive for employers to hire people they really don't need.

What is needed first for corporations to start hiring is more revenue. This is the catalyst for hiring. Corporations have a different mindset than the silly government, about hiring ! They do not hire beyond their budget schedule, and first they need to see increased revenue or the potential for it. The government does not consider revenue, because all they need do is call up the Treasury to print up another $50 billion.

Six thousand dollar tax credits for each new employee hired is almost a joke. What corporation would consider this ? Damned if I know !|||Nothing. No partisan angle here...

He is doing nothing. The so-called jobs bill is no longer a possiblity, which is good, because it wasn't a jobs bill. As it stands, he and Congress are just spending more and more, and only 2/3 of the stimulus money has been spent. No doubt they will push that out closer to election to try and look good, but one only has to look at what has been committed to spend to know the bill will come due and it won't be long. That means inflation and tax hikes. He has said now he is open to tax hikes.|||nothing, obama was elected at the cost of $660 million dollars to accomplish an agenda which is the destruction of the USA ! the plan is to gut the country and turn it into a fascist state run by the "elites" for the elites.the people will become btu units supporting the elites.pretty radical,eh..yep, the truth is a wake up call nobody wants to hear...|||Fact The stimulus bill created jobs. There is debate about how many jobs it created but there is no denying it created jobs.

CBO: 800,000 to 2.4 million

IHS/Global Insight: 1.25 million

Macroeconomic Advisers: 1.1 million

Moody鈥檚 Economy.com: 1.6 million

Fact just about every economist has said one of the worse recessions in history is over.|||He is doing nothing to increase employment. He is crowding out private sector investment with his deficit spending. Most job opportunities he created are in the DC areas in government, bailouts of the states are helping current state employees.|||The Stimulus bill did create jobs but they were government jobs which in the end will not help the US. We need to be creating jobs for small businesses which employ 70% of all workers. Expaning the goverment and creating more jobs will only higher our debt and hurt the private sector.|||http://www1.voanews.com/english/news/eco鈥?/a>

Hope this answers your question Thankfully Economy is on a verge of recovery

Thanks for asking|||he's spending like a drunken sailor thinking that it will fix everything. he's an idiot.

as for employment, not a thing. unemployment continues to rise.|||He gave the average citizen about $13 a week in tax cuts and spent about $787 billion to save about a million jobs or about $787,000 per job saved.|||He's creating plenty of job opportunities in Congress. In November, he will have created at least 10 Senate seats and enough in the House to lose the majority.|||The stimulus bill, which probably saved us from a depression. Right now he's trying to get a jobs bill through Congress, with tax cuts for small businesses that hire the unemployed.|||he wants to higher people to build infrastructure etc but what happens when the job is finished this is just 1 that came to mind|||hi, he's doing "nothing"!
